This is the machine-readable form of the reference layer behind this site: 54 concepts across structure, climate, screening, irrigation, crop protection, production outcomes and climate zones, plus 109 glossary terms.

What is in it

Each concept carries a definition, a set of facts, and typed relations to its neighbours. Facts are published with their unit and the conditions they hold under, because a number without its qualification is not checkable — a screen that cuts heat loss by 47% does so while closed, and saying so is the difference between a figure and a claim.

Relations use SKOS, so a consumer can walk from a climate zone to the systems it governs. Where a concept matches an entry in the FAO's AGROVOC agricultural thesaurus, that mapping is published too.

Why we publish it

Greenhouse knowledge is spread across standards, institute reports and forty years of Dutch practice, and very little of it is written down in a form a machine can read. We wrote this layer to answer questions properly on our own pages; publishing it costs nothing extra and makes the sector easier to understand for everyone building in it.

If something here is wrong, we would rather know. Tell us.
