About DutchGreenhouses.
Exporting Dutch technology and knowledge to where it is needed most.

DutchGreenhouses® is an internationally oriented greenhouse manufacturer from the Netherlands, and our mission is simple to state and demanding to deliver: export Dutch horticultural technology and knowledge to the places where it is needed most. The Netherlands turned a small, cloudy, crowded country into one of the world's largest food exporters by mastering how to grow more with less — and that hard-won expertise is exactly what much of the world, facing pressure on food, water and land, now needs.
What sets our approach apart is a deliberate focus on standardisation rather than customisation. Instead of reinventing every greenhouse from scratch, we build on proven layouts, components and engineering, adapting them to each site's crop, market and climate. That discipline is not a limitation but the source of real customer value: it lets growers start quickly, keeps quality consistently high, makes pricing predictable, and — through MetaFit assembly of pre-fitted components — cuts weeks off construction time anywhere in the world.
Crucially, we see hardware as only half of what we deliver. A greenhouse succeeds only if the people running it know how to grow in it, so training, education and coaching are built into every project through our GrowingDutch programme. We stay involved after handover, transferring cultivation knowledge to the local team until they run the facility independently — because a project that thrives for years is worth far more than one that is merely built well.
We are based in Naaldwijk, in the heart of the Westland, the historic greenhouse district that is the centre of gravity for global horticultural innovation, and we deliver turnkey projects in more than 40 countries — from tropical crops in cold climates to leafy greens in the desert. Wherever the outdoor climate makes growing hard, our purpose is to make it possible. Get in touch to discuss bringing the Dutch approach to your project.
The people behind DutchGreenhouses
DutchGreenhouses was founded in 2017 by a father and son who between them cover both halves of a greenhouse project — the engineering and the growing.
Edo Raus — Co-founder & Greenhouse Technology Lead. Edo grew up among the greenhouses of the Westland and trained as an electrician, wiring climate computers before he was twenty. He understands the full greenhouse stack end to end: steel structure and foundations, screening, climate, irrigation, energy, MEP and cultivation. He technically reviews the engineering content published on this site.
Timo Raus — Co-founder & Greenhouse Development Specialist. Timo leads business development and writes the educational content on high-tech greenhouse horticulture and controlled environment agriculture. With a financial background from Erasmus University Rotterdam and a turning point managing a high-tech project in Dubai, he shapes the commercial side of our turnkey projects worldwide — from feasibility and financing to design briefs and procurement.
Both are based in Naaldwijk, in the heart of the Westland.
